A project produced and posted an image in the form of a cartoon with AI to introduce the reward, and it was confirmed that the painting style and composition strongly reminded of a specific cartoon and animation. Even an AI-generated image can violate the intellectual property rights of the original work if it learns the painting style or character of a specific work and implements it similarly. The same goes for recreating the style of a specific studio or artist as it is, such as the recent conversion of "Ghibli style." Wadiz has guided you to recreate this case as an image that doesn't remind you of a specific piece of work.

When creating images with AI, be careful not to enter a specific artist name or work name directly at the prompt. If the output is substantially similar to the original, it can infringe on intellectual property rights, a criterion that applies regardless of whether it is created by AI or not. It is recommended to check the similarity with the original before posting.

A baseball glove reward project has confirmed that the story is composed of images of certain baseball players and the names of broadcast programs. The contract with the individual player was confirmed, but the permission to use the image and name of the broadcast program was not confirmed. Wadiz requested to submit a related use contract, but did not receive it for personal information and other reasons, so we informed them to exclude broadcast program names and images that have not been confirmed for the contract from the story.

Consent to the use of portrait rights and name rights is required to use the image or name of a particular player for product promotion. If an image or name is put forward without confirmation of the contract with the player himself or his/her agency, it may be an infringement of portrait rights and name rights, and consultation with the production company should be confirmed even if a specific broadcast program name is used.

This week, we focused on intellectual property and portrait rights issues. We checked one by one whether the AI-generated image was reminiscent of a specific work and whether the player image or program name was put forward without a contract.

Both cases have the same reason. You can't write freely just because you made it with AI or used already known content, so we'll see if projects are created on legitimate rights in the future.

Meanwhile, as these issues are repeated, the criteria for expressing reward information using AI and synthetic contents have been newly established. Although AI-generated and synthetic content can be used on its own, key information that can influence the decision to purchase rewards should be based on actual facts, and misleading can lead to content modification or project non-exposure.
